The Coronation bus shelter, Orton
It may say something about the importance of public transport to rural communities (at least in the 1950s) that the villagers chose to mark the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 with a bus shelter.

Road junction at Orton, round the bend to Appleby and left towards Shap. The phone box could do with a coat of new red paint. In the distance can be seen the church tower.
