No 11 Chlorine Gardens, Belfast
A late-Victorian detached house, in more recent times used as an accountant’s office, now agreed for sale. The agents’ brochure describes it as “This grand residence is situated on Chlorine Gardens which links the Malone Road and Stranmillis Road. Nearby amenities include Methodist College, Queens University and the Ulster Museum. The house will require replumbing as all the plumbing has been stolen yet it retains many delightful period features and when refurbished will result in a fine family home”. This photograph appears as a matter of record only. I have no involvement is the sale

Lennoxvale. Belfast
See Image The view in the other direction – towards the Malone Road. “Lennoxvale” was originally a mid-19th century villa, with grounds, along what was then called the Old Malone Road. In an early example of “garden grabbing”, it was redeveloped with the building of a number of smaller villas which became popular as the residences of linen merchants.

See Image (July 2007) and Image (March 2008). Just to bring matters up to date - there is no apparent progress on the site. On the bright side, the grass has been nicely cut and it is now possible to see over the fence.
