Gertrude Star FB mural in Martin Street
This, artistically speaking, is one of the very best of Belfast's many murals, Loyalist, Nationalist and Neutral. This has been painted opposite the smaller mural on the facing gable end.

The Gertrude Star Flute Band Mural in Martin Street
The Gertrude Star Band was formed in 1961 in the densely populated Protestant working-class inner city area of East Belfast. Most of the back to back houses that existed in this area in the 1960s have since been replaced by low density modern housing. Gertrude Street WW1 mural, Belfast (January 2017)
A mural, at the Templemore Avenue end of Martin Street, commemorating residents of Gertrude Street who died in the First World War. It replaced this one Image and Image Gertrude Street was off Kenilworth Street Image on the lower Newtownards Road. The 1918 street directory shows nine of the 52 houses occupied by soldiers.

Former Rupert Stanley College, Belfast
Built in 1924 as a primary school, to a design by W.G. Davies and later used as a college of further education before being replaced by the present building in Tower Street Image Now disused, blocked up and minus some slates. In Templemore Avenue at the corner of Madrid Street (foreground). On the “at risk register”. Note added 20 August 2010 – there is now planning permission for “Restoration of the former Rupert Stanley college as a Community Networking Centre including offices, meeting rooms, multi-purpose hall, a cafe, a creche/daycare centre and support facilities."
