The Gertrude Star Band was formed in 1961 in the densely populated Protestant working-class inner city area of East Belfast. Most of the back to back houses that existed in this area in the 1960s have since been replaced by low density modern housing. Martin Street is located off Templemore Avenue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbNQz0BVUc0
