Lane leading to the ruined lodge of the Forkhill Rectory
The CoI rectory and its lodge off the Glendesha Road were destroyed during the War of Independence to stop the British Army from setting up an observation post at the vicarage.

The boundary hedgerow of the former Forkhill Rectory
Nothing remains of the 33 room rectory except for the ruined entrance lodge, which is visible immediately to the right of the bungalow. The rectory was burnt to the ground in 1921 by the IRA on the eve of its planned occupation by Crown Forces.
