Belfast Water Works cover, Belfast (5)
Fire hydrant, stop-valve and similar covers, installed by the Belfast Water Commissioners, remain common although the body was abolished almost 40 years ago. This example is at Viewfort Park on the Upper Malone Road.

"Beware of horses" sign, Belfast
Officially “accompanied horses or ponies likely to be in or crossing the road” sign on the Upper Malone Road near Olde Gorge Manor. A busy suburban road might seem an unusual place for such a sign but there is an equestrian centre nearby.

Recently planted laurel hedge, around a field near, the corner of Wilmont Park and Dunmurry Lane. It will be interested to look again next year to see by how much it has grown.

Wilmont Cottages, Dunmurry (2012)
Wilmont Cottages, at the corner of Dunmurry Lane and the Upper Malone Road, were part of the estate of Wilmont House Image (architect Thomas Jackson) and probably date from the same period. Listed as HB26/16/007 they fell into disrepair and were restored by the Hearth Housing Association – full story here http://www.hearth-housing.org.uk/Wilmont.html . The restoration architect was Dawson Stelfox. Image shows the cottages before restoration.

Dunmurry Lane, Dunmurry (2)
The autumnal view, towards Dunmurry, from opposite the entrance to the Golf Club. The course is on both sides of the road. Don’t be surprised to find some golfers appearing through holes in the hedge.
