Nos 16-20 Dunbar Street, Belfast (June 2018)
See Image (June 2009). This former fruit and veg warehouse is now to let. The agents’ description includes “Available on flexible short term licences. Warehouse accommodation extending to 9,203 sq ft. Benefits from office accommodation and mezzanine space extending to 3,240 sq ft. Prominent city centre location. Suitable for a variety of uses subject to planning.” I have no connection with the property and cannot enter into correspondence. There are still a few wholesalers left in the city centre but only a few.

Gordon Street, Belfast
Gordon Street runs off Hill Street Image towards the Dunbar Link (background). 100 years ago it was mixed residential and commercial. By the 1970’s it had become rundown and neglected. Now part of the “Cathedral Quarter”, it has seen much redevelopment and restoration and includes a number of office buildings.

Woman on a chair in Belfast
The title of this sculpture, in Gordon Street, of a woman standing on a chair atop a flagpole, is “The Calling 2003”. The sculptor is Paddy McCann. It is said to represent a theme of communication between people and their environment. The fact that it is outside a bank suggests that it was inspired by a woman who had just met the manager on a bad day. See also Image
