A view from Chelsey Hill. The track you can see heading to cross a tributary of the Siston Brook is not a right of way.

Warmley Church spire breaks the horizon to the right with part of Kingswood on the slopes behind it. If the photographer had not removed it the little blue line marking the edge of the grid square could be seen almost at his feet stretching away left of the spire.

The Bridgeyate Ebenezer
A United Methodist chapel was established here in 1810 to serve the villagers. Many local people had to gather in houses before plans were made to build a permanent structure; one John Trubody gave a small plot of land for the foundation in February, 1810, here in Bridgeyate. The worshippers, many of whom worked at the Warmley Tower brassworks, established this homely chapel. Local tales state that John Wesley himself came here from Kingswood to preach on the Common, tying his horse to the chestnut tree nearby. Now, however, the Grade II listed church has been converted into up-market holiday flats, using the old chapel and schoolhouse.

Electricity pylons are not always bad news, here they perform a useful function giving the view direction. The view is toward south Bristol. The hill on the horizon to the left is near Pensford. Dundry Hill is to the left of the pylon though the church tower is hidden.

The A420 between Warmley and Bridgeyate
The eastern fringe of Warmley, just behind the photographer, feels like the edge of the Bristol conurbation; ahead there is some ribbon development along the A420 through Bridgeyate and Wick, but Bridgeyate Common, on the right of the road, is a natural boundary. The nearest building on the left of the road is The White Harte pub. https://thewhitehartepub.co.uk/

Across the common are two odd neighbours. The White Harte pub dates from the early C18, its teetotal neighbour is the Ebenezer Methodist Chapel of 1810
