A small cast iron plate is set into the pavement in Queen Charlotte Street, one of several in the street. The modern pavement seems to have been extended.

Waverley House, Queen Charlotte Street, Bristol
Perhaps a recent recladding of an older building as the brown brick car park below has a 1970s look about it. This is accommodation for Bristol University students. Gimcrack blocks like this have sprung up across the land to cater for the burgeoning sector - developers have found it lucrative as they need not jump through so many planning hoops and students do not apparently need as much space (or light) as other types of human being so there is more money to be made. Universities must be complicit in this.

Venting in Queen Charlotte Street
An underground substation is cooled by an old style pavement vent. Note the street name encircles the post like a dog collar, whilst the smaller plastic plaque has been damaged. Also note the different paint layers.

Rounding the junction with Queen Charlotte Street is this 1961 office block by Alec French & Partners. The curve compensates for the exceedingly plain elevation.

The large office block that rises highest is the D.R.G. Group premises; the spire on the right in the distance is St Mary Redcliffe.

Must be 1960s or 1970s. The pattern reminded me of this: Image University of Bristol student accommodation.
