Prince Frederick pub, Nichol Lane
The Prince Frederick carries a very unusual name for a pub. It is named after the son of George II, who predeceased his father and thus never became king himself: instead, when George II died Frederick's son, the king's grandson, became George III.
To the left of the pub, a small green sign marks the point where the Green Chain Walk leaves Foxbury Road to cut along a path and eventually over the railway line eastwards.
