Newhaven, Prince of Wales
Public house on South Road. An attractive tiled frontage advertising "United Ales"; internally, central counter with bar left and lounge right, darts, pool, background music. Most fittings look to date from 1930s, with more tiles and dark wood. Cask ales on offer: Long Man Best, Old Man.

Huggetts Green, West Quay
Built on the track bed of a former shingle line that linked the Lewes to Seaford railway with the beach below Castle Hill next to the Western Breakwater. It derives its name from the local name of a nearby field that is now buried beneath the newly developed West Quay and began to be applied by locals to this small park from which the local council gave its official sanction. The houses on the right front onto Chapel Street.

"This tribute to the heritage and future of Newhaven
was unveiled by His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent KG on the occasion of his visit to Newhaven 15th May 2003"

Floodgate, West Quay, Newhaven
A nearby Environment Agency sign explains that the Newhaven Flood Alleviation Scheme, opened on 15 October 2021, reduces flood risk from the tidal River Ouse (adjacent, out of shot right). On site it's not obvious which direction the water would come from: presumably downstream, behind the camera. With the gate closed, the pressure of the water would keep it closed against the cill.

West Quay
The piles are the remains of the former Coal Wharf. Other than a couple of stages used by local fishermen the West Quay is now largely redundant and has been redeveloped in the last few years.

Cottages, Fort Road ,Newhaven
Or possibly houses? Certainly a pleasing design looking out of place in the middle of Newhaven.
