London Road
The A281 just beyond Image prior to it turning northwards again. The road is quite old having once been an ancient transhumance route connecting Upper Beeding to woodland pastures it owned around modern day Lower Beeding. From the 1770s it was part of the first major London-Brighton turnpike before it was replaced by quicker more direct routes. Today it is the modern A281 linking Horsham to the A23 at Pyecombe. An old metal flue can be seen above the trees to the right possibly belonging to Chestham Park.

Conifers near Henfield
Standing at the B2116 turning off the A281. I think they might be a type of cypress. Note the elevated section.

Security at Chestham Park
These cameras are trained on the point where the public footpath leaves the A281. The dogs (dobermanns I think) were indeed running free - but thankfully not onto the footpath. They were barking on the other side of the fence, within the private part of this estate.

Crouch Hill Gate
The junction of the A281 and B2116 is still called Crouch Hill Gate on modern maps and was once the site of a tollhouse roughly located where the current gravel parking area is, see http://www.henfieldthenandnow.net/uploads/2/6/8/6/26865739/1041149_orig.jpg for a view taken around 1912. The tollhouse was built in the late 18th century as part of the Henfield Turnpike Trust which operated a stretch of an old London-Brighton coaching route between Henfield and Horsham. It remained in use as a cottage when the road was disturnpiked in the 1880s but was pulled down around 1920 since when the road has been widened.

To be collected
The vehicle has a notice on the windscreen saying that it is awaiting collection following an accident. Taking account of the dirt and condition of the vehicle it has been waiting for sometime.

Originally a field called Turnpike Field on Henfield's 1844 tithe map since the mid 1980s it has been home to a nursery that was taken over by Jack Dunkley's around the beginning of this decade, see Image for an image taken in 2009 and given a good idea of how the nursery looks a lot more corporate today. The nursery is bounded by London Road, the A281, to the east, Kidders Lane to the north, Lidde Hill Farm to the south, and Image to the west.
