Coxham Lane, Steyning
Marked on a 1791 town plan of Steyning providing access to a field called the Shooting Field. On Steyning's 1841 tithe map it was given the name of Gatewick Lane but remained undeveloped. By the 1876 OS map Image had been built which most likely accounts for its current name. The lane was subsequently developed from the 1920s onwards.

Coxham Cottages, Coxham Lane, Steyning
Not marked on Steyning's 1841 tithe map but does appear on the 1876 OS map. Until the 1920s these were the only dwellings on Coxham Lane.

Coxham Lane
Once connected Horsham Road with Tanyard Lane but now only the former entrance remains though at this point a footpath from Tanyard Lane that eventually heads out of town to the north crosses over the lane.

Penns Court, Steyning
A cul de sac containing sheltered housing that was constructed in 1990 on the former site of Steyning Gas Works. The works had been established by the late 1850s but closed sometime in the 1960s or 70s though a gasholder remained here during the 1980s.

Breach Close, Steyning
A cul de sac off Tanyard Lane that was built in the 1960s and named after GW Breach the firm who ran a nearby tannery from the early 19th century to its closure in 1941.

Saxon Cottage: Steyning (West Sussex)
This charming cottage is a National Trust holiday cottage. It is situated in Church Street in the south eastern section of the grid square. Originally, all the houses in this village resembled this style of building. In later times it became unfashionable to live in timber frame buildings and owners put brick and mortar facades on.
