Railway Bridge Tongdean Lane
This small part of Tongdean lane is separated from the major part which is on the other side of the railway in Withdean. Through the arch can be glimpsed the entrance to Brighton and Hove Albion's football ground

Tongdean Lane Railway Bridge
The old lane links London Road (A23) with Dyke Road Avenue though this part was rerouted to the south when the railway was built in 1840. The area around the bridge was cleaned up recently with the removal of trees from the embankment and the eradication of a piece of graffiti exhorting all and sundry to 'Send Cruise Back' along the top of the bridge which had been there for over 25 years. The area concerned can be made out by the covering paint. The road is closed on Brighton & Hove Albion matchdays which is where the crowds are heading to on the other side of the bridge.

Tongdean Lane Railway Bridge
Originally built to allow access from Withdean Farm to its fields west of the railway line. As can be seen there is light snow falling though not enough to cover the well gritted bus route that turns north after the bridge. Withdean Road to the right hasn't been gritted and thus retains its cover of snow.

Peacock Lane, Brighton
The only peacock road name in East Sussex. The lane makes the southern boundary with Withdean Park. This view is taken from the junction with the A23 looking south.

Old and New, London Road, Withdean
The tall flats on the left are The Park Apartments built relatively recently whilst the old flint cottage to the right is now called Karibu. The cottage dates from the early 19th century and is one of two buildings that remain from the old hamlet of Withdean which was grouped around a crossroads formed of London Road, Peacock Lane and Tongdean Lane. The former manor house was once situated to the left near the junction of Peacock Lane in what is now Withdean Park and was demolished in 1936.

Electric Vehicle Chargers, Withdean Road, Withdean
Located outside Withdean Stadium are these two pay chargers for electric cars. Snow obscures the parking bay which allows charging for cars for up to four hours only. There are one of four pairs dotted around the city, the others are next to the Town Hall, on Madeira Drive and by The Level. Contrary to popular though I have actually seen these being used.
