The tall flats on the left are The Park Apartments built relatively recently whilst the old flint cottage to the right is now called Karibu. The cottage dates from the early 19th century and is one of two buildings that remain from the old hamlet of Withdean which was grouped around a crossroads formed of London Road, Peacock Lane and Tongdean Lane. The former manor house was once situated to the left near the junction of Peacock Lane in what is now Withdean Park and was demolished in 1936.
