An Open-top Bus at The Triangle
Taken in April 1972, this photo shows 189 (CRU 189C) a Daimler Fleetline bus with Weymann 74-seater bodywork at The Triangle on a private bus tour in Bournemouth. The vehicle belongs to Bournemouth Corporation Transport and dates from 1965. Since this photo was taken, the road layout at The Triangle has been considerably altered, and the buildings behind the bus changed in appearance.

Bournemouth: new-look Triangle
This summer, the layout of The Triangle was altered. Previously, the triangular centre was an almost inaccessible patch of grass, with a stand for out-of-service buses alongside. Today, the bus-lane, previously to the left as we look here, has been relaid, traffic-free as a sort of plaza, on which a modest produce market was set up each Friday during the late summer. The plaza is unseen from here, as it is at a lower level, but it runs alongside the Library building which is prominent. Between us and it is one of those stepped walls on which one can sit. The Image is visible in the background.

Bournemouth: town crier in The Triangle
The town crier is mid-"Oyez!" as he announces the commencement of the nativity parade. Two donkeys will accompany children as Mary and Joseph, Mary carrying a doll representing the infant Jesus, on a route through the town centre where an empty crib on a bed of straw awaits them. Three wise men on camels will follow them along the route.
