Christchurch: postbox № BH23 54, Queen?s Road
Looking along Stanpit from the Queen's Road turning. The postbox, a George V-reign one, is emptied finally at 5:30pm on Saturdays and at 12:30pm on Saturdays.

Ship in Distress, Christchurch
Well known pub & restaurant in Stanpit. Landlady in the late C18 was notorious smuggler Hanna Siller; contraband could be brought to the back of the pub by boat:

Nowadays, the pub is better known for its seafood. I haven't eaten there, so can't comment; reviews seem mixed. But who could challenge the views of the doughty Ladies who lunch in Hampshire?
