Buildings of Christchurch (a selection): 6 & 6a Castle Street
Early C19, but formerly a C17 mercer's house and home in the nineteenth century to the talented Ferrey family. George Ferrey was the Christchurch Priory organist for many years, and Benjamin Ferrey a famous ecclesiastical architect. He also designed several lay buildings, among them the Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth. Listed Grade II.

Buildings of Christchurch (a selection): Ye Olde George Inn and 76 High Street
The inn was a former timber framed building refaced in the C18 with painted brick. It was at one time the George & Dragon, a coaching inn, and a stop-over for the 'Emerald' coach on the coastal route from Lymington to Poole. Adjoining it is no. 76 High Street, an early C19 three storey corner building. Both are listed Grade II.
