Manswood: Britain?s longest continuous thatch (reputedly)
This line of a dozen cottages in a Dorset backwater is the unlikely location of what is reputed to be the longest unbroken stretch of thatch in Britain. This may be true; however it is a claim contested by Image

Manswood: the long thatch
These twelve thatched cottages form one of the longest continuous stretches of thatch in the country – see Image The second one along, with the lamp, is called Penny Black and was Manswood post office till its closure on 18 December 1985. There is a postbox in the wall of the outhouse opposite, still in operation – see Image

Manswood: postbox № BH21 9
This Victorian postbox is in the wall of an outbuilding opposite Penny Black, the cottage which used to be the post office. See Image It is emptied at 11:30am on weekdays and at 10:30am on Saturdays.
