A standard design of lamp-box – so called because they were designed to be clasped to lampposts (or, as in this case, telegraph poles). It is emptied finally at 4:30pm on weekdays and at 9:15am on Saturdays.

Shaggy ink cap
At first, the cap is egg-shaped and whitish with shaggy fibres. It expands with age and together with gills,blackens and liquefies. Yuk!

Corfe Mullen: postbox № BH21 204, Orchard Lane
This postbox serves a more scattered, rural-ish area of Corfe Mullen, contrasting with the modern majority of the place which renders it apparently the largest village in England. The box is emptied at 4pm on weekdays and at noon on Saturdays.
Also in the picture is a footpath to Central Avenue.
