Battle Mead, Corfe Castle
"New" Corfe Castle is centred on a small network of leafy suburban style streets to the south of the historic old village. Battle Mead no doubt commemorates the castle's role in the Civil War when it was a Royalist stronghold besieged by Parliament forces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corfe_Castle This area looks to have been an old orchard at one time.

Corfe Castle: postbox № BH20 125 and phone, East Street
Looking across the main East Street towards these two red objects. The building behind, on the corner of Mead Road, appears to have been converted to a house but is labelled 'Telephone Exchange' in the stonework. The postbox is emptied finally at 4:30pm on weekdays and at 10:15am on Saturdays.

The Dollings, Corfe Castle
"New" Corfe Castle village is centred on a small network of leafy suburban style streets to the south of the historic old village. New buildings evidently have to match the traditional stone colours of the old part of town.
