Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) - Swanage

ASB continues to be an issue for those who live in the Swanage area.

We will engage with our communities to better understand the issue, so we can focus our operational response accordingly.
We will also work with partner agencies and other police departments to problem solve and create effective plans to target our activity.

Drug Dealing (including County Lines activity)

Police engagement with the local community has highlighted that drug dealing is a notable concern to those who live in the Swanage area.

We will continue to respond to community intelligence and take positive action in tackling drug related activity.  This will consist of both high visibility and covert policing tactics.

• This issue remains a local priority for the team due to the harm it causes to the local community and we will continue to focus our efforts in the area
• During March, the team conducted 29 separate targeted patrols in the town centre at key times and the Mobile Police Station was deployed at Main Beach car park on the 17th of March for two hours so people could speak directly with local officers

• We have taken positive action against offenders where possible

Sexual exposures have been reported to us over recent months where women are targeted by men committing sexual offences

Planned action to tackle this issue:
- Targeted high-visibility patrols at key times both on foot and in our 4x4 all terrain vehicles (alongside National Trust staff and private security)
- Plain clothed operations
- Multi-agency working with the National Trust and Beach User Group
- Ensure all work is conducted in line with the force/national Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) strategy

- Positive action taken in line with the force/national Violence Against Women & Girls (VAWG) strategy - latest arrest on Saturday 18th July
