Welcome to the Purbeck South Neighbourhood Policing Team. We are at the peninsula end of the Isle of Purbeck, the gateway to the World Heritage Site Jurassic Coast. We cover a large area from Corfe Castle, Studland, Swanage, Langton Matravers and all the villages and hamlets in between. Policing is varied across our section, with seasonal fluctuations in population bringing a diverse range of both emergency and non-emergency work.
We are based within Swanage Town Hall and comprise of Sergeant Simon Colvin, PCSO Chris Rosenberg, PCSO Tara Ferrari and PCSO Karl Snooks, PC Harriet Doust & PC Bethany Shave.

Due to current staffing restrictions/reductions, there will be some disruption to Station Desk Services. Hours will be reviewed regularly based on required staffing availability. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
During February/March 2023 Poole Enquiry Office hours will be adjusted as below:
On some dates due to these temporary reductions, the station may need to close 1300-1400 hrs for rest break. When Poole is closed please either visit Bournemouth Police Station or use the yellow phone located on the wall outside the station.
We aim to revert to regular hours of Monday - Friday 0800-1730 hrs as soon as possible.

Normal policing patrols will continue to be provided when the Station Desk is closed and alternative contact can be made using the online reporting services on our website, email to [email protected] or via 101 for all non-emergency matters.
When life or safety is at risk always dial 999.
Please note that when attending to ensure effort is made to arrive approximately 1 hour prior to closing time to allow your enquiry or process to be dealt with.
Road Traffic Collisions, Property Release, Section 165 seized motor vehicle release, Prohibition release, Sex Offender registration - can take up to 1 hour to complete.

| 1 Oct 2025 | Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) - Swanage ASB continues to be an issue for those who live in the Swanage area. Response (31 Dec 2025)We will engage with our communities to better understand the issue, so we can focus our operational response accordingly. |
| 1 Oct 2025 | Drug Dealing (including County Lines activity) Police engagement with the local community has highlighted that drug dealing is a notable concern to those who live in the Swanage area. Response (31 Dec 2025)We will continue to respond to community intelligence and take positive action in tackling drug related activity. This will consist of both high visibility and covert policing tactics. |
| 1 Jan 2026 | Shoplifting & associated Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)
Location: Swanage town centre.
Issue: Offenders are targeting local businesses causing upset to staff, customers and the wider community.
Planned action to tackle this issue: *Multi-agency working with the town council and local business owners *Targeted high-visibility patrols at key times and locations *Monthly deployment of the Mobile Police Station (MPS) in Swanage *Plain clothed operationsResponse (31 Mar 2026) This is a new priority. Actions with be updated monthly in due course. |

Issue: Noise and disorder issues from a residential address are causing distress to other residents in the area.
