Beacon Hill Junction on the A350
This busy junction is on the A350 between Poole and Blandford, with local roads leading off here to Lytchett Minster, and Corfe Mullen.

Former Limberlost Pine furniture company
This company used to produce quality pine furniture, but has sadly closed. This building is on the A350 at the turn into Beacon Hill. The question of which grid square it belongs in could be argued. Where the building is marked on a map, it is in the vee of the two roads and looks to be ‘on the line’. My GPS put it just in this square.

Beacon Hill: postbox № BH16 27, Blandford Road North
The building on this corner was once Beacon Hill Post Office, which closed down in the 1980s. It was then taken over by Limberlost pine furntiture company, earning the junction the soubriquet Limberlost. That name can still be seen in the iron former gateway to the left (which is in the next square east).
The postbox is emptied at 4pm on weekdays and at 9:45am on Saturdays.

Beacon Hill (district)
The car may be hoping to get to the green traffic light just visible where this road meets the A350 before it changes.
Beacon Hill was noted for its production of sand and lime bricks, using materials extracted from the quarry situated in this square. The bricks were steamed rather than fired, and this produced a very hard, durable brick that was available in a range of colours. Beacon Hill bricks were used extensively throughout the county and may be readily recognised. The quarry is now exhausted and production has ceased. It is now being used for landfill.

St Aldhelm's Chapel, Lytchett Heath
This delightful building is tucked away and easily missed. The tower is unusual in that the bells are visible from the exterior. The chapel was presented with a set of new stained glass windows depicting the life of St Aldhelm in September 2001.
