The building on this corner was once Beacon Hill Post Office, which closed down in the 1980s. It was then taken over by Limberlost pine furntiture company, earning the junction the soubriquet Limberlost. That name can still be seen in the iron former gateway to the left (which is in the next square east). The postbox is emptied at 4pm on weekdays and at 9:45am on Saturdays.
