Bournemouth: sunset behind a building with a flag
Today's sunset was a surprising occurrence since we had had a lot of showery rain and even some prolonged hail storms today. Here we look west, towards the town centre, from the East Cliff as the sun descends behind a large town-centre building with a flag flying from its roof.

Bournemouth Blue Plaques: No. 11 - J R R Tolkien
The author John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was a frequent visitor to Bournemouth and stayed here on East Overcliff Drive at the Miramar Hotel from the 1950s until 1972. Best known for his classic fantasy works The Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings.
