The author John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was a frequent visitor to Bournemouth and stayed here on East Overcliff Drive at the Miramar Hotel from the 1950s until 1972. Best known for his classic fantasy works The Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings. Image Image
