The former Victoria Drill Hall (aka Lansdowne Drill Hall) is in Lansdowne Lane, off Lansdowne Road, and is the second of two main drill halls in Bournemouth (the other is in Holdenhurst Road). Opened in 1902 by Field Marshall Earl Roberts, it became the Headquarters of the 3rd Wessex Brigade Royal Field Artillery; 6th Hampshire Battery.

Bournemouth: car-roof snowman
This morning's snowfall was not of tremendous quantity but it was enough for someone to make this mini-snowman on a car roof, using a plastic fork for the arms. In the background is one of many fast-food outlets in this popular nighttime area, with plenty of bars with late licences in the vicinity.

This pub on the Lansdowne roundabout used to be a hotel. Under the Eldridge Pope brewers, it was the Lansdowne Hotel and later the Junction Hotel before being taken over by O’Neill’s about a decade ago.
