Kinson: a snowy branch across the Stour

Kinson: murky water of the Stour
A westward (downstream) view along a minor stretch of the River Stour, which diverges from the mainstream a mile or so behind us and rejoins it a few hundred yards ahead. The area enclosed by the two watercourses makes up the majority of Millhams Mead local nature reserve. See Image for a view of the bridge on which we are standing.

Kinson: footbridge over the Stour at Millhams Mead
This footbridge gives access to the large public open space, the Millhams Mead local nature reserve, which is concentrated on the northern side, from Garsdale Close which is just behind us. See Image for the approach to this end of the bridge. The railings on the left protect some kind of outfall or sluice gate, and its concrete surround.

The footpath from Garsdale Close, on the south side of this minor arm of the River Stour, approaches the footbridge which gives access to the large public open space, the Millhams Mead local nature reserve, which is concentrated on the northern side.
