Remains of old mineral tramway off Whitehall Road, Scholes, Cleckheaton
The tramway ran about 5km from the Low Moor Ironworks to the canal at Brighouse, and there were also various branches to coal mines. Here it was on an embankment, mostly removed now, and crossed over Whitehall Road (the A58). The white tower in the distance is part of Marks Chemical Works in Wyke.

Branch Road, Scholes, Cleckheaton
Branch Road because it was a branch off the Leeds to Halifax turnpike road, in the distance. However it is much older than that, as it continues as an unsurfaced lane (a public footpath) to Oakenshaw, which was in the same manor as Scholes in the 13C. Taken from SE168261 looking north
