At the bottom, Hagg Street forms a T-junction with Green Road. In this photograph, the building on the left, which is No 32 Atkinson Street, is of interest, as there are very few brick-built buildings in the town.

This building, erected in 1938, is now in use by a stone merchant.

The nearest house is 56, Knotts Lane; the Harold Street houses are then numbered from 4 to 24, evens. At the far end is a T-junction with Hawley Street.

At the right of the photograph, Harold Street makes a T-junction with Knotts Lane. The sunlit houses have even numbers starting from 2 at the right hand end. Just off picture to the left, Harold Street ends at a T-junction with Hawley Street.

The shop in the foreground is just across the far side of Colne Water, on the corner of Knotts Lane. The terraces catching the early morning sun are in Hawley Street and Khyber Street, while some expensive detached properties have recently been built behind, on the edge of the moor. Colne is a very ancient town, but now in the 21st century, it's a lively place with strong support for the arts, very little 'yobbish' behaviour, and with open countryside never far away.

This is the west end of the road where it has a junction with Knotts Lane. 'Exebell' occupies Nos 106 and 104, then from 102 down, the houses are residential, the furthest one visible here being No 84. Green Road is roughly parallel with Colne Water, and at its far (east) end it reaches a T-junction at a bridge, from which the centre of Colne can be easily accessed.

Looking east. This short street has T-junctions at both ends: with Knotts Lane at the camera end; and with Hagg Street, at the far end. The sunlit houses are numbers 1 to 31, odd.
