Higher Flax Mills, Castle Cary
Now owned by John Boyd Textiles Limited and used for horse hair weaving on power looms. The closer end was originally water powered and far end was a later steam powered addition. The site is listed Grade II*.

Higher Flax Mills
Now used by John Boyd Textiles Ltd for weaving horse hair on power looms. The main mill building is to the left and straight ahead is a warehouse building. The site is listed Grade II*. It is a rare survivor in use as a textile mill and the company is one of the last in the world still weaving hair cloth using hair from the tails of live horses. The weft is horse hair and the warp is cotton or silk.

Now used by John Boyd Textiles Ltd for horse hair weaving using power looms. The complex is listed Grade II*. This building is a warehouse and offices and includes a nice wall mounted crane. The listing shows this as the mid-19th century middle warehouse.
