A pitch on Clandown Rec
It's a pair of goals, but the surface is not up to Premiership standard. The old Clandown football club used to play just up the road, but they disbanded over a decade ago.

The Old Pump House
This little red brick building used to work on the covered reservoir just behind it. However, the large garden shed is a sign that plans were laid for it to become a private residence.

A ghostly whistle echoes around the ground
This is Thynne Field, formerly the home of Clandown Football Club. The club played here towards the end of their time, located on the outskirts of the village. Clandown has some success in their history, but it was the latter time when it began to decline. In 1999 a storm destroyed the stand and clubhouse so badly the ground was abandoned. The club played their fixtures in nearby Paulton but had to reduce the number of teams. The 2003-04 season was the last as the club sadly folded. The pitch has since been subject to some fly-tipping and nature has assumed the upper hand now.

Making the fly-tippers stumped for access
The track leading to the delightfully named Starvelark Wood has had some large tree stumps placed in the way of more concerted dumpers.

Exotica on Eastdown Road
This free range plot is home to some chickens, geese and peafowl. All seem keen to get a beak-full of grain. This part of Clandown was bathed in unseasonably warm sunshine and there seemed to be dozens of cockerels all down the road in different homes, crowing incessantly.
