There have been increased reports of anti-social behaviour in the High Street, Midsomer Norton. A group of young people have been reportedly causing issues around the High Street and Holly Court.

Additional patrols have been completed this week and will be continued next week in conjunction with community events including the town fireworks display and the remembrance parade.
Reports received of increased issues in and around Sainsbury’s. Noted by Neighbourhood Team and patrols will cover this area.

A number of reports have been received stating an increase in anti-social behaviour in the skate park, Midsomer Norton.

Younger teenagers are reported to be littering, using foul language and being generally anti-social between the times of 4pm onwards.

An older group of young adults are reported to be using drugs in the area later in the evening and in the middle of the day at weekends.

There have been very few reports received this recently, however police presence continues in the area.

There has been a significant increase in general anti-social behaviour and thefts from the Co-op in Radstock.

This remains a neighbourhood priority for the team and patrols continue. Communication with local businesses is regular and any issues are being dealt with positively.

Patrols have been regularly completed by the Neighbourhood Team in Jubilee Close and will continue.

This priority has been reopened due to increased reports of off-road bikes and electric bikes being used to cause anti-social behaviour in the Radstock area.

This priority will be closed now as there have been no more reports of off-road bikes on the cycle paths. The other linked priority for ASB in Radstock will remain so we can patrol and monitor, and should further issues arise with off-road bikes on the cycle paths, we will reopen this priority.

We have received concerns from several members of the public regarding revving of engines, speeding and general anti-social behaviour in Clevedon Road, Midsomer Norton.

Patrols has been completed in the area at the times reported. We will continue to provide a presence in the area to combat this issue. No vehicles fitting the descriptions have been encountered as yet.

We are aware youths are either purchasing cars for a low price on facebook or taking parents cars in the middle of the night.

We are encouraging parents to have conversations with their young people around the dangers of this behaviour, and we are asking members of the public to report any suspicious activity, driving or sightings that maybe linked.

Action has been taken on this priority as individual cases of this issue has arisen on a case by case basis.
Due to the potential for serious negative effect on our community from this issue, we will continue to keep this as a priority, although reports have lessened over this period.

There has been a ongoing issue with anti-social behaviour and criminal damage to the Holly Court precinct in Midsomer Norton. Shop fronts have been damaged, youths have been climbing on the roof causing damage and a danger to themselves and members of the public have experienced aggressive and anti-social behaviour directed at them.

Work around this priority has continued. We have maintained regular visits to Holly Court and been on hand to deal with any issues as they have arisen. There has been significant positive developments with regards to the security and maintenance of the building and we continue to keep good communication with both the owners and the users of Holly Court.
This will continue to stay as a priority to ensure the issues don’t increase again. Currently reports are that the issues are significantly reduced.

The local policing team have been made aware of a large number of reports regarding anti-social behaviour and criminal damage in the area of the Nightingale Way estate, including Merlin Way and Eagle Drive. This behaviour has taken the form of footballs being kicked deliberately at properties relentlessly and abuse being directed at residents.

This remains a priority as a great deal of work is being done along side other agencies to resolve any of the issues being experienced by residents.
Very regular patrols have been conducted over this period, no issues of note have been observed from these patrols.
Positive action has been taken wherever there has been evidence of a crime or anti-social behaviour.

It’s reported that the issue has significantly improved with the work that has been done by police, business owners and the improvements to the premises.

Regular patrols of the Nightingale Estate has continued. From these patrols at the various highlighted times, no children causing ASB or criminal activity have been witnessed by officers.
