New housing and old commercial properties on Washwood Heath Road
The older buildings still have the remains of the 'ghost writing' on the gable wall; it's not clear quite what was being advertised - the only parts I can make out are the letters 'N & S' at the top of the display, and possibly 'CONATO' at the bottom.

Midland Bank Saltley. Sorting code 40-11-22
I worked for Midland Bank HSBC for 32 years and spent all but the last two in Birmingham Branches. I am photographing all the branches, or what's left of them, as they were when I joined Midland Bank in 1963. The branches all start with the sorting code 40-11.
This is the site of where the 13 High Street Saltley Branch stood.The sorting code was 40-11-22.
