This empty office unit is at the corner of Mackadown Lane and Meadway. It would be good to see it put to some good use.

A Brutalist Pilgrimage
Admirers of Modernist architecture have come to see Our Lady Help of Christians, a Catholic church in Kitts Green, Birmingham, that was completed in 1967 to designs by Richard Gilbert Scott, of the famous Scott dynasty of architects. The tour was led by members of Brutiful Birmingham, which defends and promotes the city's much-maligned Modernist and Brutalist architecture. Catholic Church of Our Lady Help of Christians
Church building of the Catholic parish of Kitts Green/Tile Cross, located on East Meadway, opposite the shopping precinct and now next to Lidl. It was built in 1966-7 https://taking-stock.org.uk/building/kitts-green-our-lady-help-of-christians/ to a design by Richard Gilbert Scott of the famous Scott dynasty of architects. Its roof, with its dramatic curving sweeps of ribbed, serrated trusses made from reinforced concrete faced with copper, is a local landmark. R G Scott also designed the nearby Catholic church in Sheldon, but he considered this design to be the better of the two https://gilbertscott.org/our-lady-help-of-christians-church/ .

Interior of Church of Our Lady Help of Christians, Kitts Green
This is a view from the south transept across the sanctuary towards the north transept, with the nave off to the left - if such traditional terms make any sense here. The three arms of this T-shaped church have equal status really, and were intended by the architect, Richard Gilbert Scott, to bring all worshippers close to the altar. The church was completed in 1967 and embodies the liturgical reforms of the Second Vatican Council, which had ended two years previously. The three concave vaults of reinforced concrete resemble the sides of a tent, suggesting perhaps the People of God on the move, on pilgrimage in a time of great change within the Catholic Church and without. The Church of Our Lady Help of Christians
A Roman Catholic church, located on East Meadway in Shard End. The church was built to the design of Richard Gilbert Scott (of the architects Sir Giles Scott, Son & Partner) in the late 1960s, and attracted a Grade II* listing https://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101245546-roman-catholic-church-of-our-lady-help-of-christians-including-sign-and-boundary-wall-shard-end-ward#.WyiivadKiUk & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1245546 in 1999. It is particularly noteworthy for its innovative architectural design, as well as the coloured glass windows and quality of the internal fixtures and fittings.
