Bus at Gospel Oak terminus
539, a Volvo B6LE/Wright Crusader of the very recently renamed Travel West Midlands, lays over in the Gospel Lane/Lakey Lane junction that buses used to turn at Gospel Oak. The bus, one of 183 such dreadful machines TWM bought in the late 1990s, was only two or three months old at this point, and the 32 had only just been extended here from Acock's Green in connection with the introduction of these buses. It is not connected with the old 32, which once served this area on a one way loop (the 31 went the other way round, but by this time was a straightforward out and back route that also terminated here).

Gospel Oak bus terminus, Hall Green (1)
Seen from Redstone Farm Road. Named after the pub that is now a Cooperative Food shop (visible behind the bus), this is currently the terminus of National Express West Midlands route 4A to Birmingham via Acocks Green and Warwick Road.

Gospel Oak bus terminus, Hall Green (2)
National Express West Midlands 2227, an Alexander Dennis Enviro 400MMC, lays over outside the Cooperative Food shop that was formerly the Gospel Oak pub; it is on route 4A to Birmingham city centre via Acocks Green and Warwick Road. I still cannot get used to NXWM single deckers with 2xxx numbers; to me, 2227 is still an MCW Metrobus mk1 (one of the small batch with Rolls Royce engines that were at Acocks Green garage and would therefore have been regular visitors here).
