Bethel Apostolic Church of Excellence
The Bethel Apostolic Church of Excellence in Ladywood Road came into existence in 2012, taking over the former Welcome Inn. References to the former pub online are rather scant, except for a Birmingham Mail story about an electrical fire in 2011.

Edgbaston House, Duchess Place, Birmingham
Built 1974-76, architects unknown but Arup Group were involved as engineers (skyscrapernews.com). One of the least impressive of Five Ways's towers.
The area around Five Ways was earmarked for office blocks under John Madin's 1957 plan, commissioned by the landlord, the Calthorpe Estate, eager to boost its income. Most people will think it a strange thing to say of a collection of 1960s tower blocks, but the result is of an unusually high standard. It is relatively low density, landscaped, and possesses a good mix of towers, a number of which were designed by Madin's architecture practice. Away from the towers, the area retains a pleasant residential character and some of the good early C19th houses have survived.

The New Garden Square development, promises "new offices, apartments, shops, cafes and restaurants set around an attractive public garden square, together with car parking and soft landscaping" (according to their website). https://newgardensquare.co.uk/

Edgbaston House - Duchess Place
As with many similar office blocks around Birmingham there are signs on the end of the building advertising for new tenants. A lot of new office space was built in the last couple of years in the city centre.

Brick and concrete office block, probably 1970s, offering some 45,000 square feet of space.

Twin tower cranes in Birmingham
I am always amazed at how these huge structures are made stable. These two are working on the New Garden Square development north of Hagley Road and west of the Five Ways interchange.
