Inside the Cube - what a view
The Cube, rear of the Mailbox in Birmingham, whilst completed, is not exactly buzzing with occupants/business. However, the site is open to pedestrians (sadly not to more than 3rd floor). However, inside there is a series of statues by the artist 'Temper' - this one, appears to be being carried off into the sky.

Marie Corelli's gondola
It is frequently said that Birmingham has more miles of canal than Venice. It also has Gondolas - well one at least, moored in the short arm behind the Mailbox. I am told, although I'd be grateful if anyone can confirm it, that this gondola formerly belonged to Marie Corelli and was used by her on the River Avon at Stratford. Marie Corelli is buried in Stratford-upon-Avon, and as can be seen from Image she remains eccentric even in death! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Corelli

The Gough Arms (1), 52 Upper Gough Street, Birmingham
Located on the corner of Upper Gough Street and Marshall Street. Some time after this photograph was taken this public house closed. It re-opened in the summer of 2014 under the new name of the Keg & Grill. As the name implies, food is available. Image

The Gough Arms (2) - sign, 52 Upper Gough Street, Birmingham
The Gough family were presumably local landowners as there are at least two streets named after them, as well as this pub. The pub is now known as the Keg & Grill and therefore this sign has been replaced. Image
