Brookmans Park: Bradmore Green
Since this shopping parade, with its half-timbered facings and herring-bone brickwork, is not shown on the Ordnance Survey map of 1938 it probably dates from post-war. Just visible far right is the Post Office.

And no longer just shops. Built after 1950. This is the retail and services centre of Brookmans Park.

A down stopping train bound for Welwyn Garden City from Moorgate trundles away from Brookmans Park station. The number? You're just so demanding! 365516 is the trailing unit.

Brookmans Park: The estate office
Time was when every new large or prestigious housing development would have a small office strategically placed at the main entrance to the estate to provide potential purchasers with information about the new properties for sale. This wooden kiosk on Bradmore Green is a rare survivor, probably placed here to capture the attention of customers arriving by train in the 1930s. Today it is still in use by a firm of estate agents, Fine & Country.
