Shelter at How Wood Station
The station has no ticket machine as the fares are collected by a travelling conductor on the "flyer" No signals are needed as there is only one train plying to and fro.

My preferred way of titling photographs of roads is the place name followed by the road name. So this is the road named How Wood in the place called How Wood! Anyway 1950s/1960s terraced housing typical of the place, with finely trimmed privet hedges.

How Wood: Railway line to St Albans Abbey
Viewed from the Hyde Lane pedestrian crossing of the railway, this is the St Albans Abbey branch line, looking in the direction of St Albans. Many years ago this was the site of a railway junction with a short-lived freight line to the former Napsbury station on the Midland Railway about two kilometres to the east. The railway was however closed before the First World War.
