19 Jan 2026

Anti-social behaviour in Aldwick Court and shoplifting at the Co-op in Cell Barnes Lane.

Response (19 Jan 2026)

This is a new priority. We will update you shortly.

19 Jan 2026

Rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour/ASB outside Oaklands College

Response (19 Jan 2026)

The anti-social behaviour reported includes littering, smoking, and committing public order offences outside the college during break times and after lessons, affecting passers-by and nearby residents.
We did:
o We have been working closely with the college, Speckled Hen and local shops.
o Increased high-visibility patrols
o We have issued community resolutions and issued words of advice to students and spoken to their parents
o We are now working with the police Community Support Unit to issue anti-social behaviour agreements to repeat offenders.

19 Jan 2026

Vehicle related anti-social behaviour at Starbucks and the A414 North Orbital Road.

Response (19 Jan 2026)

This is a long-term neighbourhood priority of vehicle related anti-social driving, illegal car meets and excessive noise along the A405 in Chiswell Green.
We did:
o We have been working on this complex long-term neighbourhood priority with Starbucks, Herts Highways, Herts County Council, local councillors, local residents, Burston Garden Centre and the PCCs office for the past five-and-a -half years.
o Acoustic monitoring technology was installed last year to measure vehicles emitting noise above the legal threshold, funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner. St Albans Neighbourhood officers were the driving force behind the new technology being installed.
The number of reports has dramatically reduced over the past few months.

Response (2 Apr 2026)

You previously asked us to deal with anti-social behaviour and drug use in The Camp, including Aldwick Court, Cunningham playing fields and Cell Barnes Lane
• High-visibility and plain clothed patrols. Three stop searches were carried out under the misuse of drugs act in Dellfield and Richard Stagg Close. As a result, a man was arrested as he was wanted on recall to prison and a second man was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting at the Co-op in Cell Barnes Lane.
• Three men aged 17, 18 and 25 were arrested at the junction of Mountbatten Close and Cell Barnes Lane by neighbourhood officers on proactive routine patrol. Knives and suspected drugs were seized.
• Local counsellors have been out on patrol with officers to discuss longer-term improvements in the area.

Anti-social behaviour and drug use in The Camp, including Aldwick Court, Cunningham playing fields and Cell Barnes Lane

Response (20 May 2026)

• Increased proactive high-visibility and plain clothed patrols.
• Since February, we have arrested 13 people and carried out nine stop searches.
• Known shoplifters that have been targeting the Co-op have also been reported to court and one prolific shoplifter received a 16-week prison sentence.
• A man – wanted for four months - was arrested on 6 May by officers on routine patrol in Foxcroft on suspicion of vehicle interference.
• Working with the Co-op to reduce shoplifting – which is part of a national issue.

This is a long-term neighbourhood priority involving vehicle related anti-social driving, illegal car meets and excessive noise along the A405 in Chiswell Green.

Response (20 May 2026)

• We have been working on this complex long-term neighbourhood priority with Starbucks, Herts Highways, Herts County Council, local councillors, local residents, Burston Garden Centre and the PCCs office for many years.
• Acoustic monitoring technology was installed last year, which measures vehicles emitting noise above the legal threshold, funded by the Police and Crime Commissioner. St Albans Neighbourhood officers have been the driving force behind the new technology being installed.
• Since the cameras have been in place, the number of reports of anti-social driving has reduced.

You previously said: Rowdy and inconsiderate behaviour/ASB outside Oaklands College

Response (20 May 2026)

We did:
• Regular high-visibility and covert patrols at random times of the day.
• Dedicated officer for the college - PCSO Lou Traxon.
• Closer working with the college (words of advice and pupils have been expelled) and the Speckled Hen and local shops.
• Working with colleagues from Neighbourhood Policing Teams in Bedfordshire.
• Since this partnership intervention, we have seen a significant reduction in reports of ASB in the area.
