The (former) Village Surgery in London Colney
Operated as a surgery for several decades, it is a converted house. It became part of a joint operation with the Lattimore Surgery in St Albans some years ago. This latter surgery moved to London Colney about seven years ago when they were unable to renew the lease on the property they were using.
They moved in early August 2021 to the new "Summerfield Health Centre" in Caldon Road, adjacent to the long-established Library and Parish Council centre. See

Target House - offices to homes?
Target House (257-263 High Street) is an office block which has been empty since late 2011 - a planning application was made in 2011, and subsequently withdrawn and another application made early in 2013, both to convert the building into a residential care home. The latest application was rejected in March by St Albans District Council. There doesn't seem to be any further planning application so far, but last month the garden at the front of the building was cleared completely of the rather overgrown bushes. It will be interesting to see what develops here.
(I have been informed that only three days after taking the picture a planning application was made to convert the building into 10 flats.)

High Street, London Colney, the refurbished White Horse pub
A view of the High Street updated from
Image with the "White Horse" pub recently restored back to its original name from the dreadful brewer's name of "Pear and Partridge" which it had borne for some years. This refurbishment is the result of new tenants taking over earlier this year.
Unfortunately the Highways people erected a large sign close to the pub's sign regarding restrictions for lorries over 7.5tonnes as part of an 'experimental' scheme to control such vehicles; it rather spoils the view of the pub, alas.
