Comet Racer
One of Hatfield's landmarks is the replica of the Comet Racer which won the Britain to Australia air race in 1934. It is outside the deco Comet Hotel Image which dates from the same time.

A1(M) Hatfield Tunnel
Photographed looking southwards onto the A1(M). Behind us is the Galleria shopping centre. The tunnel was opened in 1986. Before this, the traffic squeezed through Hatfield on a single carriageway.

Hatfield: The Comet
This icon of Hatfield is on the forecourt of The Comet Hotel (now a Ramada Jarvis) overlooking the Comet roundabout and the Galleria (in the background). The Comet roundabout was for many years at the junction of the A555 and the A414 roads.
