Weir on the River Bogie
The 1:25,000 map marks the weir next to the Laird's Intake, and the first edition of the six-inch map shows that the lade (See Image]) from the weir supplied the Old Distillery a little distance downstream.

Located just beside the Gordon Schools building. The plaque reads: Gordon Highlanders memorial / Erected by Huntly Community Council / from public subscription worldwide / to commemorate / the north-east's own regiment / 1794-1994 / unveiled by Angus Farquharson OBE / Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire / on 24 June 2000.

The Gordon Schools, Huntly
The original sandstone school building from 1839 designed by Archibald Simpson with later additions and A-listed (LH94943): http://portal.historicenvironment.scot/designation/LB34943 (thanks to the person who installed the 'swimming pool' road sign right in front of it). According to the school website, the building is still very much in use and serves the music, drama and home economics departments. The narrow arch leads to Huntly Castle.
