The plaque reads: Gordon Highlanders memorial / Erected by Huntly Community Council / from public subscription worldwide / to commemorate / the north-east's own regiment / 1794-1994 / unveiled by Angus Farquharson OBE / Lord Lieutenant of Aberdeenshire / on 24 June 2000.
