Dunlugas House
A distant view of Dunlugas House across the River Deveron. The original part of the house dates from 1680 and was built for George Ogilvy of Dunlugas but is not visible from this viewpoint. The classic Georgian house we can see was built in 1793 for Hans George Leslie by an unknown architect. It is a category A listed building.

Sunnyside
The cottage does have a sunny aspect, being at the north side of one of the few open fields on this side of the square.

Riding Stones
The 1902 25-inch Ordnance Survey map names the stones in the riverbed here, between the foot of Newton Den and the island in the middle of the River Deveron. There is a small step down in the riverbed, so the stones, and perhaps the island, must be a rib of a resistant rock type.

Minor road at Denhead
Ashes beside a road above Dunlugas. Dunlugas' driveways have grabbed the flat haugh route, the public road has to climb up and around before falling back to the level of the Deveron.
