Fields above Strichen
As usual in these parts, field boundaries are barbed wire fences. The road sign warns of the steep descent and bends required to get under the Formartine and Buchan Railway, now a path.

Access to Formartine and Buchan Way
This is the crossing at the B9093 at the east end of Strichen, and it was where we left the path today. We had logged 12 miles according to both my GPS receiver and my companion's app, in spite of the sign saying 10 and the published distance being 10½ miles, although we had never left the path and had not retraced our steps at any point.

Bridge East of Strichen
This bridge is of the standard design like all its fellows between here and Fraserburgh, except that its abutments are taller. The ladies with dogs are two of only three walkers (and four dogs) that we encountered on the whole path after leaving Fraserburgh, though we did encounter a dozen or so cyclists.
