Newhall House
Interestingly, 'The Buildings of Scotland' says that Newhall is late 18th century, but Historic Scotland's web site says it is early 19th century. No matter when it was built, it is Category B Listed. Newhall is the birthplace of Major-General William Farquhar (26 February 1774 – 11 May 1839) who, after a long spell as British Resident in Malacca, was instrumental in creating Singapore, of which he was the first Resident until Sir Stamford Raffles dismissed him. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Farquhar for a fuller account.

Newhall House
This is a most attractive traditional house with two storeys and attic, and an unusual central gable. It is a Category B Listed building, and I was a bit surprised to see that it was built as late as the early 19th century.
