Railway Line north of Newtonhill
Looking Northward towards the small bridge over the railway, this empty track seems to typify the amount of rail traffic in the Aberdeen area. Note how green the fields are, despite the picture being taken on 27 December.

Cattle at Backburn Farm
Farms in this area of Aberdeenshire make good use of all available resources, and here we see some of the cattle being fed on locally-grown feedstuff. The land around here can be rather rough - see the area behind the farm buildings - but in the mild climate close to the sea, there is good growth on the better land and crops and animals can flourish. Not sure that I have the date right, but I think this was taken in springtime.
