A path leads away from Lake Road East to a crossroads junction. The history of this northern part of Roath Park is explained at http://www.cardiffparks.org.uk/roathpark/info/wildgardens.shtml . "The Wild Gardens was last tidied and undergrowth removed in the 1980s and the current overgrown state was not reached until relatively recent times." The park is grade I listed, according to http://ishare.cardiff.gov.uk/mycardiff.aspx?MapSource=Cardiff_Live/base_Standard&Layers=PublicRightsOfWay&tab=maps.
